It was in the years 1990 when the People’s Bank of China began to issue these 0.1 Yuan coins. One Jiao is equal to one-tenth of a Chinese Renminbi. It has a value equivalent to 0.10 Yuan.

The Chinese 1 Yi Jiao Banknote

The People’s Bank of China issues Yuan banknotes in twelve denominations. It includes the 1 Yi Jiao note of China. They are a component of the Chinese Yuan withdrawn Renminbi banknote series. The bank began to issue these notes in the year 1980.

Then in 1999, the 0.1 Chinese Yuan banknotes were withdrawn from circulation.

Features of 1 Jiao Banknote

The front of a standard 1 Jiao banknote features two men dressed in ethnic wear facing the right on the left side. The note displays a design on the right side. It contains denominations on the bottom corners in numerals.

The reverse of the 1 Jiao bill has “Zhongguo Renmin Yinhang” printed on the top. In the center, there is China’s emblem with a big “1” on both sides. The denomination and “People’s Bank of China” are printed in traditional Tibetan and Mongolian scripts, Zhuang and Uyghur.

How Much Is a Yi Jiao Worth?

One Jiao equals one-tenth of a Chinese Renminbi. The coin carries a value equivalent to 0.10 Yuan. The 1 Yi coin is silver in color. It displays the text “Zhongguo Renmin Yinhang” and features an orchid. Upon quick conversions, one Chinese Yuan equals 0.15429 US dollars.
